This Alexa Skill is an educational skill which has more than 450 English idioms and proverbs.  The English Professor can explain them in a simple to understand manner with a practical example. This skill can be played on all Amazon echo devices.

"Alexa, ask the English Professor"

This will randomly select an idiom and will explain it to you.

"Alexa, ask the English Professor to give me an idiom with pot or pan"

Ask the Professor to tell you about any idioms with a certain word or words in them.  The Professor will go through them one by one, and if you find the one you were looking for, he will give explain it to you.

Be Specific

"Alexa, ask the English Professor what is the meaning of spill the beans"

You could also be very specific.  Just ask the Professor to explain a particular idiom that you are interested in.

You can also say:

"Alexa, ask the English Professor what does it mean to spill the beans.
