Most questions have a single answer. Listen carefully and say A, B, or C to answer. But, there are a few trick questions where none or all of the answers are correct. In this case, you need to say Rubbish.
You will score one point for a correct A, B, or C answer. You will score two points for a correct Rubbish answer.
You will not lose any points for an incorrect answer, but you will lose one point for an incorrect Rubbish answer.
There are only a few trick questions, so be careful.
Once the "Fancy Quiz" skill is enabled on your Amazon echo, you can simply say:
"Alexa, start Fancy Quiz"
"Alexa, ask Fancy Quiz"
"Alexa, let's play Fancy Quiz"
Alexa will then ask you how many players will be playing. You can have up to 5 players. It would then ask you how many questions you want her to ask. She can ask anywhere from 3 to 10 questions of each player.
The game will start with Player 1. Players will take turn answering questions. The game will continue until all questions are asked. At the end Alexa will announce the winner.
After Alexa asks a question, she will wait for 8 seconds. She will then repeat the question and wait for another 8 seconds. If there is no answer, the game will be paused.
Similarly, at anytime during the game you can tell Alexa to "stop", and she will pause the game.
To resume an existing session you can simply start the game again as explained in the "Starting the game" section. Alexa will then ask you if you want to continue, or start a new game.
We have also added a shortcut. To skip all the initial dialogues, you can say:
NOTE: Alexa, can understand a complete answer, but the noise level, your device's location, and accents can affect her understanding of the response. The game is best played if the players answers with "A", "B", or "C" instead of saying the complete answer.
There are many motivational quotes from:
To make the game more interesting, we also added some not so encouraging comments. If a player answers a question incorrectly, Alexa might say something about that!
Depending on your device's language settings, Alexa can talk to you in different accents. Try changing the device's accent in the Amazon Alexa App and then replay the game.
Just keep in mind that once you change the language, Alexa is expecting you to talk with the same accent!
